Meet Your Instructors 

Maria Carrington, LICSW, CST Maria Carrington is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist with extensive experience in clinical supervision, social work education, and behavioral health workforce development. She serves as a Resident Instructor and Practicum Coordinator in the Department of Social Work at Pacific Lutheran University, where she prepares graduate social work students for clinical practice. Maria also maintains a private practice. Her work spans direct clinical care, training licensed professionals, and building sustainable supervision practices across Washington State. Chantel Hayes, LSWAIC Chantel Hayes is a Licensed Social Worker Associate Independent Clinical (LSWAIC) and trauma-informed mental health therapist with experience providing behavioral health services to traumatized and vulnerable populations throughout the Pierce County community. Her work includes crisis intervention, behavioral health, and trauma-informed clinical care across diverse settings. Chantel is passionate about fostering ethical, reflective, and culturally responsive supervision practices that support clinician development and quality client care. Her approach is grounded in Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ADEI) principles, with a commitment to bridging social work values and equitable supervision practices to promote culturally responsive, mindful, and ethical clinical practice
